Beloved Liverpool girl-pop group Stealing Sheep are back! Armed with their trademark artistic flair and a bold new attitude, they have returned their first ever self-released single 'Let's Go!' (Out April 12th via their new label G-irl) which marks the start of their new chapter. By the sounds of this single... its not a chapter to be missed.
The beats are bigger the melodies have a confident swagger and the electro textures create a bustling, twisted Pop sound that you can't escape from. Full of sass and radiating the personalities of the trio, this new era of Stealing Sheep blends the chaotic freedom of early 00s Pop with the modern Hyper-Pop acts like Chloe Moriondo, Alternative DJ/vocal projects like Jockstrap and the maximalist joy of Charli XCX.
We caught up with Stealing Sheep while they kicked back on the sofa at Nan's House Studios with their lifelong producer Joe Wills to talk through the tracks that greased up their imaginations for this new single...

Shanks & Bigfoot - Sweet Like Chocolate
"Garage loops & pretty cutesy melodies with phat bass that vibrates the sub in your car speaker on a sunny spring day - this was the kind of energy we were seeking for 'Let's Go!'. It's got a perfect paradoxical energy of a lazy procrastination fairy and a high octane driven and overly ambitious personality".
Lily Allen - Smile
"Was this the beginning of that confessional spoken pop style that feels like a conversation from the subconscious direct / phone call style? Anyway... that was coming through in someways through our low-key vocal performance style - throw back to when the slightly sarcastic eye roll and teenage wit was at its peak"
Hudson Mowhawke & Nikki Nair - Set The Roof
"Currently buzzin' with this song in our pre-show dressing room warmup zone - another UK Garage inspired track with maximum energy - we wanted to get it straight that there's no time like the present and that we needed a kick up the butt because no-ones gonna do the hardwork for us - it's now or never and the backbeat of set the roof inspired us".
The Streets - Fit But You Know It
"It's throw back season and we're back in our teenage rebellion making a shitmix from all the dregs of our parents alcohol cupboard - that's how this track feels because it's fruitloops nightmare with samples and glitchy synths jumping and popping round every beat! We harnessed a some laddy confidence with this tune and somehow the streets was really striking a chord with us during our studio sessions - seems like the perfect vibe for the opener of our new works because it's saying it how it is and not dressing it up!".
"There's also a tangent about Sugababes on acid - but we'll save that for next time..."
