Liverpool's Arcadians have just released their brooding debut Single ‘Fabulous’. The single is product of the trio breaking up, reforming, and working hard in the studio to produce an enthralling debut track that marries early Bloc Party with Queens of the Stone Age-esque Desert Rock.
Without an obvious chorus, there are three chapters to the epic. The opening minute and a half consists of a ferocious riff that instantly pricks listeners' ears, resembling a darker version of Kasabian’s ‘Fast Fuse,’ before spitting vocals and staccato, call-and-response drums enter the fray in the first verse.
After an aggressive, fast-paced start, the tune transforms into a captivating, Psychedelic track with a narrator yearning out for a lover over ominous and plucky guitars: “I’d sail the ocean if it meant getting you".
This leads on to a cathartic outro amalgamating the aforementioned musical styles into something ‘Fabulous.’ The blending of such influences renders Arcadians’ debut effort a success and builds anticipation on what is to come from the Liverpudlians.
