Indie heavyhitters The K's gear up for album number two with new single!

Ted Flower

February is off with a bang, as The K’s have graced us with their new single ‘Breakdown In My Bedroom’ for their upcoming sophomore album ‘Pretty on the Internet’, set to be released on June 27th. With their debut album ‘I Wonder If the World Knows?’ soaring to an impressive number three in the Official UK Album Charts, fans were eager to see whether this new project would live up to the first and keep the momentum rolling.

Frontman Jamie Boyle has a knack for writing relatable lyrics which is evident as he reflects his own personal struggles with mental health. From the anchoring groove of Nathan Peers’ drums to the emotional vulnerability of Jamie's lyrics, this track has left us counting down the seconds for the new album. There are constant references to social anxiety and the title ‘Breakdown In My Bedroom’ refers to the safe haven Jamie's bedroom acts as to momentarily cure the weight of his own burdens. The change in key for the final chorus is a meritable highlight of this track, adding emotional depth and a layer of energy that has become a trademark of  The K’s.

The passion, the avidity, and sheer quality of music performed in this single, is simply a glimmer into the goldmine that is The K’s. To put it simply, we cannot wait for the upcoming album and their cult followings’ saying ‘Viva La K’s’ is becoming more relevant upon each release.
