Milwaukee four-piece Chapped Lips are back from their US tour with the high energy single ‘Freebird III’, maintaining their reputation for chaotic, yet melodic delivery.
The single marks their return to recording, after over two years since the release of their debut album ‘Sorry I’m Late’. The band have seemingly returned with more energy than ever, with the driving, tight vocals of vocalist Sam Kaffine giving the song an anthemic feeling. The lyrics are full of hope and optimism, with the chorus suggesting whatever challenge they are presented with, they will "figure it out, somehow".
Guitarist Slater Gutierrez provides a relentless riff and delivers a punchy solo that will get you moving at the back end of the track. The carefree, loose nature of the song is infectious, and it is packed to the brim. It leaves you coming back for more and more after your first listen.
If you're after a thrilling slice of frantic Garage Rock then Chapped Lips are for you!
