Finnish Indie outfit Indigo Dream have just released their new self-titled EP and it is a fitting title. Their music does in fact seem to blend colourful yet bittersweet melodies with slightly dreamy soundscapes that ring of Blaenavon.
Our favourite track is the EP opener ‘Waterfall’. It leads with a wonderfully bright and catchy guitar line which has an explorative feel, flowing loosely with a seamless cascade as each note tumbles into the next. To add to the dreamy effect, a selection of shimmering synths populate the backdrop making for a full, immersive sound.
The vocals are soft and drifting, hooking you in with the blissful melody and taking you along for the ride. The silky finesse and blend between expansive drama and dreamy lucidity perfectly matches the track’s namesake.
The rest of the EP is full of gems that showcase the band’s song craft and ability to generate thoughtful, intriguing soundscapes while always maintaining a more mainstream, catchy indie edge.
