EP REVIEW: Panther Style - Dynasty

Chicago Alt Rockers Panther Style have returned with their heavy-hitting EP 'Dynasty', a ferocious four-track collection. As you can probably tell by their name, the band never do things in halves, they put their all into conjuring a slick, menacing swagger to deliver their punchy Rock sound with a moody allure.

The opening, and title, track wastes no time in setting up an angsty groove, driven by gritty guitar lines and a dense, rolling drum rhythm that kick starts an instant energy. The guitars then float loosely around the walls of the track, bring a slightly more spaced out, dramatic feel to the verse before the chorus fully fills out, offering a thick hit of Rock instrumentals and powerful vocal calls.

'Love Removal Machine' has a slightly crisper approacher, leading with a very 'Start Me Up' esc riff that gives the song a vintage air. The organ that haunts the backdrop of the track brings that more mellow, melodic hum to the soundscape. Yet, once again, the chorus ignites an electrifying spirit with big, layered vocals, Pop Rock hand claps and a really vibrant, packed out instrumentation. There's plenty of flair in this track too, whether it be from the piercing guitar solo or moments of vocal passion, you're never too far away from a moment of soulful swagger.

'Fingers Crossed' and 'Seeing...Just Not Believing' close the EP in an equally exciting fashion, blending retro Rock influences and personas with some modern harsher, modern Alternative twangs.

A really powerful EP perfect for igniting your Rock and Roll spirit.
