The tantalisingly gritty Electro Punk blend of London duo Shelf Lives has all the dance worthy energy that you would associate with a supercharged electronic outfit while providing a snarling Punk Rock attitude that is thrown right in your face.
Their breakthrough single ‘Skirts & Salads’ is a viscous burst of social commentary, discussing the unrelenting societal pressures that they have faced with an impassioned venom. It through them into the limelight and led to them signing with Liverpool record label Modern Sky UK (Jamie Webster, Crawlers, Red Rum Club, The Lathums).
Now they have returned with their latest single, 'All The Problems'. This new release delivers the same, tantalisingly venomous bite as 'Skirts and Salads'. The hypnotic refrain of "He's got all the problems" is comparable to the infectious Wet Leg line in 'Chaise Lounge' but it radiates a much darker and menacing undercurrent. However, their sonic growth can be seen in the more expansive, breezy textures that follow this enticing lyrical repetition. Gritty rock guitar tones combine with haunting backing harmonies to create a really immersive and captivating chorus.
This high-velocity duo just keep on growing in confidence and sonic maturity. Keep an eye out for what they've got to come in the rest of 2023!
