Edinburgh four-piece Fright Years release moving new single ‘Stars’!

With its groovy drumbeat and catchy guitar riff, Edinburgh-based Pop-Rock band Fright Years’ new single 'Stars' hooks the listener in right from the first second, and the raw, passionate vocals of Jules Kelly singing the poignant opening lines are bound to have whoever hears them swept up in the emotional tide of the song before they really know what’s hit them.

“You saw life as a heavy beach/ A hundred miles in a steady light/ So when you find that you’re going nowhere/ You face the sea and you let it shine”

Based on the thoughts and feelings of Jules as she comes to terms with her father’s terminal illness, the song is heartfelt and meaningful and the feelings involved in its creation can be heard both in Jules' voice and in the instruments accompanying it, particularly when it hits a crescendo before the first chorus and the previously-steady guitar riff becomes as heightened as the despair expressed in the lyrics.

All in all, the song is catchy on the surface but offers an emotional depth that stays with you. Fright Years are without question a band to look out for.
