Discover Alt-Rock newcomer Juju!

The production on the vocals that open Juju’s new single instantly hook you in. They feel so intimate and forward in the mix that you can almost feel her breath as she delicately delivers a beautiful intro. However, this intimate opening is rudely interrupted by gritty instrumental stabs that slap you awake and kick start the Indie Rock swagger that drives the song forward.

The track ‘Swings and Roundabouts’ is a feel-good nostalgic Indie hit that has a down to earth, conversational approach in the verses, in a style that rings of Wet Leg, but a much more expressive chorus that captures the carefree summer energy of Lauran Hibberd. The uplifting melody and fuzzy instrumentation makes you feel like you’ve just finished your final day at college and are about to start a summer road trip with your best mates. The occasional vocal calls from the background of the mix add to this collective feel, as if a group of mates are all joining in with the song.

A moody electro background towards the end of the track injects a bit more angst into the atmosphere, matched by a Rock riff before diving back into a final chorus that drags your spirits back the skies once again.
