Th recent single 'September' from Chloe Moriondo is featured in the soundtrack of the new video game, ‘LIfe is Strange’ and utilises the supernatural and haunting themes of the storyline to develop a song which encompasses the listener within the lyrics and melody.
We are immediately pulled into the song with Chloe's beautiful vocals, which are layered against each other to create a surrounded soundscape. The lyrics focus on the development of a close relationship, as they realise that with this person they "won’t have to try, sometimes".
The song reaches a climax as Chloe sings with hope that this person will not forget their close friendship. These hopeful lyrics are accompanied by a pulsing piano, which reaches a height with a Pop-Punk style riff which dominates the chorus. The song ends with backing vocals which reassure that it’s ok to feel safe and secure with this new person, who won’t "walk away like the rest do".
