Liverpool trio Dead Cities make a triumphant return after 13 years away!

Dead Cities formed in 2008 and in 2011 produced their only album 'This Killer Wave', a complex Folk Rock record, partly inspired by George Orwell’s '1984'. The band name refers to post-war Liverpool, their home city. Now, after thirteen years way, they have finally returned!

We are happy to say that the band has only improved in this time. Their new single 'Hidden Places' is moving and melancholy from start to end. They seem to have ditched Folk Rock for a more Alternative Indie sound , a genre which suits them well. The song begins quickly, Martin Stillwell’s emotive vocals accompanying an initially moderate tempo. However, by just over the halfway point, much is stripped away, before the song accelerates into a glorious 2 minute instrumental.

The lyrics convey an inevitable breakup, nonetheless, the motif of 'Hidden Places', and “I see faces in the walls”, shows their original Orwellian inspiration. We hope we don't have to wait another thirteen years to hear more.
